Bourges Never Again!
Bourges was a disaster. A real disaster. 11h hour drive, heavy rain, 2h interviews, and the shortest set we ever did: 4 songs and the main mixing desk broke down, and no spare… In a festival like that, can you imagine, how unprofessional… Shame, we were in such a good mood, the crowd was hysterical, until I was singing accapella without knowing there was no music anymore. Everybody was screaming, no one here to give an explaination! The staff even dared to ask a member of our team to talk to the people in the microphone! Motherfucker do it yourself!!!
Michel was so angry, I never saw him like that. Meanwhile I kind of switched off my mind: nothing else to do. I went out, chilled out, checked my emails and suddenly, I felt weak, sick, throat pain, headache. My nerves probably broke down and I cought cold, took medecine and went straight to bed. The show was broadcasted on national radio, I just can imagine promoters’ faces when Michel told in a late interview what happened! It’s already in the news…
Next day again 11h drive to Strasbourg and because of the bus technical problems and changes, the driver couldn’t make the night shifts. Stuck in this bus all day, eating motorway sandwiches, no fresh air, arriving at venues late, no time to chill or shower, straight set up, enough is enough. It became very difficult to do the show, especially on a sunday evening after Keziah Jones and Patrice, strange line up. On top, after the big technical trouble of yesterday we got scared song after song something bad would happen. We gave everything we could but I wasn’t 100% there.
Tomorrow we drive to Luxembourg, only 200km, a gift…
Today we woke up in Luxembourg. A shopping mall next door, lunch, shower, time to set up, luxury…
Big trucks next door cought our attention: Depeche Mode are doing their residency there before the big world tour. The band is not there yet, but we take it as a lucky sign! Luxe’n'bourg, we are ready!!!!
Thanks for the details about this incredible thing happened last saturday in Bourges. As mentionned, unbelievable for a festival like that… As many people I think, see your must-see show stopped like that was clearly frustrating. I felt so disappointed :/ ! Anyway, the gig was really great, thanks for that. Good luck for Two on tour’s next shows !
[...] Malheureusement, la soirée s’arrête brusquement et on sent la frustration chez tout le monde, public et artistes, Miss Kittin revient là dessus sur son blog : here. [...]
oh what a shame. Everything was going so well from the beginning! You literally drove us crazy! Kick-ass music, cool lights & video, awesome energy on your part. I should state you’re immensely feminine on stage. That’s what struck me the most. You’re super sexy but not in a pornographic way if you know what I mean. And it’s not just the dress.
On a sidenote I found it weird you were singing like most of the time. I don’t know I just assumed you were gonna be spinning records and arranging shit. Oh well. The Hacker seemed to be doing just fine.
anyway, I surely hope to catch the last part of your show anytime soon. I see you guys are on a huuuuuge tour so I’ll have no excuse whatsoever.
Good luck for the rough days, and have fun.
A Shame, poor you, poor them,
lucky today!
come to buenos aires!
Hello Miss,
I was at Bourges Festival also and unfortunately we couldn’t enter to the showroom even we had our tickets. We waited a hour at the entrance and impossible to move and enter. I came especially for You from Le Mans and I turned back and sold my tickets.
So, in final a very bad day for everybody…
Anyway, I will pick up an other date and will come to see you a next time.
Hope you’ll meet Depeche Mode in Luxembourg. Let us know if you succeeded. I’m sure they enjoy your music ;-)
